The world’s top 2% of most important scientists across all fields have been updated in a new list issued by Stanford University [1]. Based on bibliometric data from the Scopus database, this list is widely regarded as the most renowned of its kind. It is prepared by Prof. John PA Loannidis and his colleagues at Stanford University [2]. In this article, we will focus on Taiwanese researchers who play an important role in global development and innovation.  The Stanford list includes 1593 Taiwanese researchers from different disciplines. Figure 1 represents the highly-ranking researchers in Taiwan according to world rankings.

In “The World’s Top 2% of Scientists” by researchers from Stanford University, 2021, Prof. Yuh-Shan Ho ranked the top one in the field of Science Studies (Career Impact, 1960-2020) in the world as (sm-subfield-1) and (rank sm-subfield-1 (ns)), respectively. Prof. Yuh-Shan Ho also ranked second in the field of Science Studies (single recent Impact, 2020) in the world as (sm-subfield-1) and (rank sm-subfield-1 (ns)), respectively.

In 2022, Prof. Yuh-Shan Ho ranked the top one in the field of Information & Library Sciences (Career Impact, 1960-2021) in the world as (sm-subfield-1) and (rank sm-subfield-1 (ns)), respectively. Prof. Yuh-Shan Ho also ranked the top one in the field of Information & Library Sciences (single recent Impact, 2021) in the world as (sm-subfield-1) and (rank sm-subfield-1 (ns)), respectively.
